| JANUARY 2018 MEETING TECHNICAL PROGRAM Geoforensic Evaluation of Asphaltic Concrete Pavements for Parking Lots Speaker: David Eastwood, P.E., C.A.P.M,, founder and Principal Engineer with Geotechnical Engineering and Testing, and Co-founder of the Foundation Performance Association. Tel. 713-699-4000. PRESENTATION SUMMARY Mr. David A. Eastwood, P.E., D.GE, DFE, C.A.P.M., F.ASCE, President of Geotech Engineering and Testing discussed Geoforensic Evaluation of Asphaltic Concrete Pavements for Parking Lots. The presentation outlined steps taken to evaluate the causation for distress for asphaltic concrete parking lots. This specific project consisted of a large parking lot near the airport. The pavement structure started having distress after construction. The scope of the study was to evaluate the cause of distress, and develop pavement repair techniques. This work was conducted by carrying out site visits, evaluating the existing pavement thickness components, testing all components and developing pavement repair techniques. In addition, Geotech Engineering evaluated the life expectancy of the damaged pavement.PAST PRESENTATIONS To read summaries of previous FPA presentations by David Eastwood, please click:
