Windstorm Program

Mr. Babin has been with the Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) Windstorm Inspection Group for 21 years, where he works in the Department of Education and Oversight from the Brazoria county Angleton office. Mr. Babin is responsible for the territory stretching from Beaumont to Port Lavaca. His main focus is educating engineers and suppliers. 

PRESENTATION SUMMARY

Mr. Babin discussed issues found on component and cladding oversights and HB-2439, which was signed into law September 1, 2015. House Bill 2439 relates to inspections and other activities conducted by engineers in connection with the issuance of certain windstorm and hail insurance. He also addressed questions on the windstorm program.
